Smart Lighting Control

Smart Lighting Solutions

Energy expenses can skyrocket due to over-illumination of smart buildings, city street lights and home lighting fixtures. This has created a challenge for enterprises increasingly connecting everything into a vast Internet of Things (IoT), as well as cities attempting to create an inviting and safe environment for residents. The low cost and high performance of Microsemi’s smart lighting solutions provide a more cost-effective energy output, ultimately improving lighting infrastructure and decreasing the total cost of ownership (TCO) over time.

Digital ceiling applications in smart buildings demand solutions that enabling an effortlessly built Ethernet infrastructure that supports both data and power in for IP-based luminaries. Easy installation, coupled with centralized management, simplifies setup and offers hassle-free maintenance.

Microsemi’s Power of Ethernet (PoE) solutions for LED lighting greatly improve the standby power of a typical application. With the large number of ports in an application, reducing this standby power is critical. Microsemi PoE solutions reduce the parameter to 10 mW consumed to keep the port alive, which is 10 times better than current competitor solutions. With its ability to deliver power and data over a single cable, using PoE in smart lighting applications greatly simplifies deployment and management over a unified infrastructure.
